Return & Exchange Policy

Update:

Promotional, sale, or clearance items are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange for change of mind.

Each piece undergoes careful inspection prior to dispatch to ensure it meets our quality standards. In the rare occasion that a manufacturing defect is identified, we will provide a one-time replacement of the same design and size only. Requests to exchange for a different design, size, or style will not be accepted.

At DXJ Cheongsam, we take pride in the craftsmanship and beauty of each garment we create. Our collections are thoughtfully designed to be cherished and worn with care.

We also offer complimentary international shipping, which is a privilege we extend to our customers worldwide. To continue providing this benefit, we kindly ask for your understanding of our return and exchange policy, designed to balance fairness for our customers and the sustainability of our business.


Change of Mind Returns

As a boutique brand offering complimentary international shipping, we are unable to provide monetary refunds for change-of-mind returns. For eligible returns, we are pleased to offer:

  • An exchange for another item of your choice, or
  • An e-store credit valid for 12 months

Please note that complimentary shipping applies only to your first order. Orders placed using store credit will require a shipping fee, which will be deducted from the credited amount when issuing a credit note.

If you would like to request an exchange or store credit, we recommend emailing us at hello@dxjcheongsam.com within 3 days of receiving your order.

We provide complimentary shipping for the first exchange as a courtesy. For any additional exchanges, shipping fees will apply and must be paid prior to dispatch.

 

Return Conditions

Returned items must be:

  • In original condition — unworn, unwashed, and undamaged
  • With all original tags and labels attached
  • Free of makeup, perfume, deodorant, or any signs of wear
  • Returned to our Australian office with a valid tracking number provided within 3 days of approval

Please note:

  • We are unable to process any return where the item has been worn, washed, damaged, or altered.
  • Sale items and custom orders are final sale and not eligible for return.

We reserve the right to reject returns that do not meet the above conditions at our sole discretion.

 

Quality Assurance & Fault Assessment

Each DXJ Cheongsam garment is carefully inspected and documented prior to dispatch to ensure it meets our quality standards.

All items returned with a fault claim will be assessed upon receipt. Where a fault is confirmed, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

We reserve the right to request additional information, including photographs, to support any claim.

Claims may be declined where the damage is determined to be the result of:

  • Improper use or failure to follow care instructions
  • Accidental or deliberate damage
  • Normal wear and tear

Please note: Each DXJ Cheongsam garment is individually inspected before dispatch, and records are maintained. If an item is returned showing damage inconsistent with its original condition, we reserve the right to decline the claim.

We kindly remind our customers to treat each garment with the same care with which it was made, so that it may be enjoyed for many occasions to come.

Important Notes

  • For change-of-mind returns, no monetary refunds are provided. Exchanges or store credit will be offered.
  • If a refund is provided for a confirmed faulty product, original shipping costs will be included where required under Australian Consumer Law.
  • In rare cases where a refund is approved at our discretion, the complimentary shipping provided with your order will be forfeited. A shipping recovery fee starting from USD $29 may be deducted to cover original shipping costs. Final fees may vary depending on parcel weight and destination.
  • Return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are the responsibility of the customer. For faulty items, return shipping will be reimbursed where required by law.

Please read carefully before purchasing sale items.

All items purchased on sale or during promotional events are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund for change of mind.

This does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

If an item is confirmed to be faulty, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Returned items will be assessed against their original condition at dispatch. Where a returned item shows signs of wear, damage, or alteration inconsistent with its original condition, we reserve the right to decline the claim.
